Andrew is 6 months old! Happy half-Birthday, Kimberley! For those of you that don't know, I went into Labor at a birthday party for Alexis' friend, Sarah, whose B-day is on April 30th, but her party was on May 1st which is her momma's Birthday!
At 6 months of age, Andrew has gained 10.7 lbs and grown 7 inches bringing him to a whopping 16.4 lbs and 25.5 inches. His percentages fluctuate up and down and have not been consistent, but he's mostly healthy. To date we have had 1 ear infection and lots of eczema/dermatitis but overall a very happy laid back little guy. I think that we are starting to get our two bottom front teeth and they are taking their sweet time poking through. He is drooly and irritable in the early evening, but generally calms down if he has a person to stare at or to stare at him. Alexis often has the job of getting into Andrew's field of vision.
She often gets a little too close and ends up with her hair being grabbed, but she doesn't seem to mind as long as she is quickly released.
He is currently learning to expand his pallet and has enjoyed the flavors of apples, pears, peaches, green beans, sweet potato, carrots, squash, and sweet corn as well as some cereal. Bananas are currently a no-no that we might try again later and he seeled his lips shut after 3 bites of peas ending squirting back out onto his chin.
Our next steps are to sit on our own and roll over. He can pull him self into a sitting position and immediately topple over either sideways or forward and end up with his legs behind him, but can't maintain the balance. He can also roll or scoot onto his side but can't make it the rest of the way just yet. While on his belly he makes the motions to move forward but with his limbs in the air while he's "high-centered" on his belly and then just gets frustrated. I know it's coming and when he masters these mile stones, I better watch out b/c he's going to try to keep up with his sister and she is non-stop!
