We decided to take a walk on Saturday (even though mom wasn't feeling well) just to take a break from the house. When we left our house we heard some commotion at the neighbors' and decided to check it out...
We saw the neighbor kids chasing around a bird that doesn't belong in our neighborhood (though Mandy and I agree that it's been cockadoodle-dooing every morning for the last few months.) So back and forth from one house to another, our kids ran chasing the barnyard bird through flower beds and behind bushes. Finally, it flew into a bush and Grant was able to grab it. The kids gave it a few pets while our neighbor got a bin to put the bird in to call Animal Control. So we went back home so that hands could be washed and then we could go on our way.
We started our walk again and decided to take a new path that we were pretty sure would take us to the shops near our house. So we set off with a singing Alexis and a wide-eyed Andrew for more adventures. We ended up at the shops and decided that it would be nice to get a treat at the Nestle Tollhouse Cafe. Alexis got a sugar cookie with a big Turkey on it for what is probably the most sugary dinner she's ever had. Grant and I each got cookie cups with different fillings. We definitely cancelled out the walk there but it was nice nonetheless. The weather was beautiful, but we should have left about 10 minutes earlier than we did because it got a little chilly as the sun was going down. We walked home with a great view of the full moon but also lots of wind. We made it home with no one hungry (other than Andrew) so we declared the cookies were our dinner and settled in for Football.
