For Memorial Day Weekend, Alexis, Mema, and I went to visit my sister (Aunt Becca to Alexis). Alexis has been looking forward to going to the beach ever since we told her and started counting down days to the trip.

Day 1 (5/28) - WE HAVE A BEACH BUM!
So after a looooong wait in the security line brightened by the lady in line that gave Alexis a flower for her hair. We had a slight delay for the long flight but Alexis did very well. She was a little bit loud, but overall was very well behaved. The first day was marred only slightly by 2 unfortunate incidents very shortly after getting off the plane and before we even left the airport due to a fall getting on the people mover and a smashed finger in the automatic revolving door, but we got calmed down and ready to go to the beach.
We got to the beach and she was ready to go. It was windy and the water was FREEZING but that didn't deter her a bit. We were having fun holding hands and letting the waves come over our feet, but Aunt Becca and I used every excuse we could to come back to the towels and warm up in the sand. When we dragged her away from the cold water, Alexis made sand angels, buried feet in the sand, threw sand around, and chased Seagulls. We finally dragged her away from the beach with the promise for a fun dinner. So we got cleaned up and went to Giggles N' Hugs for dinner.
GNH is a playplace/restaurant with really good food at basic prices and a playplace that has a puppet show, face painting and other activities. By the time we were headed home those eyes were fluttering despite her protest against going to bed, she was asleep relatively quickly. She knows that there is something fun for part 2 of the trip but she doesn't know what. Stay tuned.
