Ice and Snow part 2

Thursday - Day 3
Office is open, school is closed. Preschool is open though. Alexis asked multiple times in the morning to go to school, so to preschool she went. Grant drove us all since we figured his tires could handle getting out of the driveway better than my car. When he picked us up in the evening, we decided to stop somewhere for dinner on the way home...our first 3 ideas were busted because all of them were closed due to the inclement weather. 1st choice was Rainforest Cafe. We've never been there and thought it would be fun treat, but Grapevine Mills closed at 5. So we decided to check the surrounding restaurants. Stop #2 was Cozymel's, closed. Drove on over to Chucky Cheese becase we really did want to find a place that Alexis would have fun, but it was closed too, so we decided to go closer to home. Bari's was open and due to the last minute nature of the decision and how much later we were eating than if we had been able to go to one of the 1st few places, got our booth, then Grant left when I ordered to run across the street to Kroger to grab some babyfood for our scooting bottomless pit.

Friday - Day 4
Schools are closed again because the parking lots and streets to get there provide a cheap alternative to paying for the skating rink in the Galleria. We actually woke up to pretty snow that was falling and covering the ice, but it was still pretty treacherous. Today I broke out some of the crafty stuff and we made a bead and pipe cleaner flower.

Alexis finally had some good play time in the snow while Andrew watched from the pack'n'play through the window. He hates being confined when he is awake but he was pretty captivated the majority of the time that they were out there. I joined in and threw snow balls, they made snow angels (after forcing Alexis to lay down in the snow), I got out her sand toys so that she could build a snow tower and use the wagon to cart around snow. When they came in, she got to have her first Hot Chocolate ever...she was actually more interested in the marshmallows. Later we met friends ar McDonald's for some playtime and time out of the house. Overall it was definitely the best of the days off.
