Tuesday - Day 1
We heard ice pelting the windows (along with thunder) for a few hours. The office is closed, so I get in my comfy's to work from home and pop some orange sweet rolls in the oven so that Alexis can have breakfast when she wakes up. She comes down stairs and looks out the window and is soooo excited to see the snow. We actually had a little bit of snow on top of the ice at our place unlike some of those near us. As excited as she gets about the white stuff...she really is not a snow bunny in the least. She begged to go outside, but we weren't rushing to go out in the cold so we told her that it was pajama day instead and that we would play in the house all morning and then go out in the afternoon. So fast forward to the afternoon. She was excited about putting on her layers of "winter clothes" which for us included a leotard and baby legs that we used as leg warmers. Stopped at the neighbors and went sledding with them for a little bit...Alexis said she enjoyed it, but not enough to get on it again to go to see if I could get a better picture. We sledded in a couple driveways.
Andrew even got one run with daddy. I think we were outside for about the same amount of time as it took us to get ready to go out in the first place...IT WAS COLD! That night, we were surprised to find Sadie in a place that she does not go regularly...Alexis' room. Now she goes in the room when we're in there just to inspect or run around, but this time, she was asleep in the middle of Alexis' bed. Alexis thought this was the coolest thing and she moved her pillow from the end of the bed to the middle and curled in a ball next to Sadie. We monitored and made sure that we took Sadie out a time or two but Sadie went right back up to Alexis' room and snuggled with her.
Day 2
Andrew heard that Alexis had some one on one time with Sadie and was apparently jealous and decided to climb in Sadie's bed in hopes he might get to curl up with Sadie too.
He knew Sadie wouldn't be able to get in the crib, so this was the better bet. The rest of day 2 was pretty uneventful, though we did make sprinkle cupcakes. It was pretty clear that Alexis missed her routine of bouncing off the walls with other little people all day long.
