So lately, I have heard (or read on Facebook usually) about many of my friends' kids that are near Alexis' age voicing their opinions...I think I saw somewhere, "it must be a 4-year-old thing". Alexis is no different. She's not 4 yet (though sometimes she'll tell you she is when she's being silly) and she has always liked to have the control of choosing but this is different. She is now letting us know before given a choice what she likes or doesn't. Luckily, this isn't happening with everything yet, but lately it has happened quite a bit with music.
Though she usually doesn't actually have control over what we play in the car because it's either KLTY Family Friendly radio or one of her CD's, occasionally we will skip around.
Grant's and my observations are as follows:
She tends to pick female over male vocalists
She always tells us to switch off of Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles (I know we're going to have to have a talk with her about this)
She will generally tell us to keep it on Gwen Stefani
She's not a fan of acoustic even when she likes the original version of a song.
She does not like Soul Sister by Train
She likes things that she's heard many times before and can sing along.
She loves to pretend to be Ariel from the Little Mermaid and especially seems to like the parts of the songs where it's talking instead of singing and will default to this to sing over something that she doesn't care if we have on but is done chatting with us.
